John’s latest Benjamin Justice mystery, SPIDER
SEASON, will be published on December 9, 2008,
by St. Martin's Minotaur (www.minotaurbooks.com).
This is the eighth novel in the series begun in 1996.
Beginning in August, John's first four mystery novels,
including SIMPLE JUSTICE, his 1996
Edgar winner, will be published in 2008 by Bold Strokes
Books (www.boldstrokesbooks.com).
Following the August publication of SIMPLE
JUSTICE, Bold Strokes will follow with REVISION
OF JUSTICE in September, JUSTICE
AT RISK in October, and THE LIMITS
OF JUSTICE in December.
John's essay, "Vito Russo Does L.A.," about his memories
of the late and legendary author of The Celluloid Closet,
is included in the new collection, Love, West Hollywood:
Reflections of Gay Los Angeles, edited by Chris Freeman
and James J. Berg, published in June, 2008 by Alyson Books.
John will teach two writing courses this summer for UCLA
Extension: "What Kind of Writer Am I? on Saturday, July 12,
2008 and an eight-week Wednesday evening class, "Developing
Your Inner Editor," beginning July 16, 2008. Both courses
