John’s latest Benjamin Justice mystery, SPIDER SEASON, will be published on December 9, 2008, by St. Martin's Minotaur (www.minotaurbooks.com).  This is the eighth novel in the series begun in 1996.

Beginning in August, John's first four mystery novels, including SIMPLE JUSTICE, his 1996 Edgar winner, will be published in 2008 by Bold Strokes Books (www.boldstrokesbooks.com).  Following the August publication of SIMPLE JUSTICE, Bold Strokes will follow with REVISION OF JUSTICE in September, JUSTICE AT RISK in October, and THE LIMITS OF JUSTICE in December.

John's essay, "Vito Russo Does L.A.," about his memories of the late and legendary author of The Celluloid Closet, is included in the new collection, Love, West Hollywood: Reflections of Gay Los Angeles, edited by Chris Freeman and James J. Berg, published in June, 2008 by Alyson Books.

John will teach two writing courses this summer for UCLA Extension: "What Kind of Writer Am I? on Saturday, July 12, 2008 and an eight-week Wednesday evening class, "Developing Your Inner Editor," beginning July 16, 2008.  Both courses will be held on the UCLA campus.  For more information or to enroll, visit www.uclaextension.edu.
